Become a Trustee for Fundraising and Marketing - 

Support Those Who Support the Railway

We are looking to recruit a new trustee to our board, with experience of Fundraising and/or Marketing. Ideally you will have a professional pedigree in these disciplines, though we will consider all relevant experience.

Railway Mission is a national Christian charity offering emotional and spiritual care to the railway community. We are seeking a compassionate and committed individual to join our Board of Trustees, as part of our Marketing & Communications Committee (M&C).

This voluntary role is ideal for someone with experience in diversifying income streams through creative, strategic fundraising and marketing approaches. You will be a team player comfortable advising the board on online and digital fundraising, while also familiar with more traditional techniques. You’ll be a confident advocate with major donors, au fait with high profile campaigning and understand the worth of special events, engagement with trust funds, crowdfunding and match funding.

As a trustee, you’ll help shape our attempts to build and nurture the reputation and public face of Railway Mission – ensuring our chaplaincy team can continue to serve the railway family effectively.

In addition to the statutory governance role of a trustee, you will work closely with an existing member of the M&C committee, bringing fresh insight while benefiting from their knowledge and experience.

These are unpaid roles, requiring a few hours per month, including quarterly board meetings (held remotely or in person). Your contribution will directly impact the effectiveness and wellbeing of those delivering vital frontline pastoral care across the UK rail network.
